Natixis has appointed Scott Pangbourne (pictured) and Jonathan Ohnona in a move to bolster its equity derivatives business in the Americas.

Natixis has appointed Scott Pangbourne, a former director in derivatives and structured products sales at HSBC Securities in New York and Jonathan Ohnona, formerly a portfolio manager in systematic strategies at Capstone Investment Advisors in New York, in a move to bolster its equity derivatives business in the Americas.

Jennifer Bernacchio, a financial adviser at Natixis Securities North America, confirmed the appointment but declined to comment further.

Pangbourne has joined as a director in structured products sales and Ohnona as an equity derivatives trader. They both will report to Stephane Launay, head of equity markets for the Americas, who has been in charge of developing the Natixis platform with new business lines since 2010 including corporate derivatives, insurance solutions and structured products.

According to his Linkedin profile, Pangbourne left HSBC in June after six years with the UK bank. He joined HSBC in 2007 from Credit Suisse Private Bank where he was a vice president in structured products. Prior to that, he held similar positions at Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette Securities as well as at Oppenheimer & Co.

Ohnona joins from Capstone Investment Advisors where he was a portfolio manager until April, having joined the firm in January 2012. He joined Capstone from Soci+®t+® G+®n+®rale where he spent five years as an equity derivatives trader.

The new hires in New York follow last week's appointment of Matthew Shafer as managing director of UK retail and global key accounts at Natixis Global Asset Management in London.

Shafer will report to Herv+® Guinamant, chief executive at Natixis Global Asset Management - international distribution, and joins from Merrill Lynch where he was head of alternative investments and managed solutions for Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

Natixis Global Asset Management (NGAM) also appointed Chris Jackson as head of international products in London at the beginning of the summer. Jackson will report to both Guinamant and Mark Doyle, executive vice president, global marketing and product.

Calls to Natixis to establish Pangbourne and Ohnona's responsibilities were not returned by press time.
