Premier fund of funds manager Aidan Kearney is moving to Credit Suisse to co-head the multi-manager team, working on funds he previously ran at Artemis.

The firm has made the appointment a month after multi-manager co-heads Gary Potter and Robert Burdett left to join Thames River.

Reporting to Ed Robertiello, Kearney will head the team alongside the recently appointed Graham Duce with Rob Bowie also on the team. Bowie and Kearney previously ran the Artemis multi-manager business, which was sold to Credit Suisse two years ago.

Team members Kelly Prior, Anthony Willis and Paul Green announced two weeks ago that they are also joining Thames River, resulting in Duce being handed the head of multi-manager title. He previously ran Credit Suisse's private client team.

Duce said: "Kearney and I will run money together and grow the business. The four of us, including Bowie and Scott Spencer, are very much fund management facing and are the key decision makers."

He dismissed speculation that Spencer, the only remaining original member of the multi-manager team, will follow his former colleagues to Thames River, adding that he remains very much committed to the business.

Duce said he is looking to strengthen the multi-manager team further, with a number of hires on a junior level.

At Premier, chief executive Mike O'Shea said there is no firm date for Kearney's departure though he expects him to go reasonably soon. "We are a bit disappointed as Kearney has only just arrived," he said. "However, Credit Suisse made him an offer he could not refuse."

Kearney is part of a six-strong fund of funds team at Premier, where he is senior investment manager of the pooled service. In addition to Artemis, he has previously worked for London & Capital, ABN Amro, Singer& Friedlander and Allied Irish Investment Managers (UK).
