Former Nomura UK head re-emerges at RBC
The former head of UK multi-asset structured product sales, who left the Japanese bank alongside Marcel Koebeli, now the head of the equities, fixed income, currencies and commodities unit at Goldman Sachs in Switzerland, has been appointed head of UK & offshore at RBC within the equity derivatives sales division.
An RBC spokesperson told SRP, the Canadian bank will be combining its recent hires across sales and trading with significant investment in its European platform with the aim of expanding its legal wrappers, underlyings, payoffs and client service hub. RBC will be making a coordinated push into structured investments across Europe in 2011, he said.
He said the bank has a 'unique proposition' as an issuer with a top credit rating, 'clean' balance sheet and strong capital market capabilities globally.
In his new role, Adams will have focus on private banks, wealth/asset managers and retail plan managers. He will report to Gerald Dupuis, head of equity derivatives sales, EMEA.
Before joining Nomura Europe, Adams was head of UK structured retail products for Lehman Brothers.
