Hiroki Takayama

Hiroki Takayama, Director and portfolio manager, is a member of the Japanese Fundamental Equity team within Alpha Strategies Group. He is responsible for managing Japanese small/mid cap equity portfolios as well as research analysis. Mr. Takayama's service with the firm dates back to 2004, including his years with Merrill Lynch Investment Managers (MLIM), which merged with BlackRock in 2006. At MLIM, Mr. Takayama was a portfolio manager and research analyst on the Japanese Equity Specialist (small cap) team. Prior to joining MLIM, Mr. Takayama worked at Goldman Sachs Asset Management in Tokyo as a marketing professional, where he was responsible for equity products. He began his career at Yamaichi Securities. Mr. Takayama earned a BA degree in sociology from the International Christian University in 1996 and is a chartered member of the Security Analysts Association of Japan.
