June-Yon joined Fidelity as a Japanese Equity Analyst in 1997. In this role, he covered game software, computer software and services, electronic components, semiconductors, semiconductor capital equipment, industrial electronics, securities brokers, and Korean semiconductors. June-Yon has 9 years of portfolio management experience. In total, he has 16 years experience in the Japanese financial industry.At the same time, June-Yon also managed the Fidelity Japan Select Technology Fund (November 1999 to May 2002) and co-managed the Fidelity Global Technology Fund (June 2000 to May 2002). June-Yon was then promoted to portfolio manager and took on responsibility for managing diversified equity funds focusing on stocks within the Pacific Basin and Japanese equity markets. He managed the FF Pacific Fund, Fidelity Pacific Basin Fund and Fidelity Advisor Funds Japan Fund. The assets under management in these three funds totalled over $619m as at 29/08/03.In 2003, June-Yon left Fidelity to set up a new asset management business called Hachibushu Capital Limited, where he co-managed a long/short sub-portfolio of the Triloka Master fund. This Fund won the Best New Fund category award at the Asia Hedge awards in 2004. However, June-Yon realised that the environment, resources and support did not match those available at Fidelity, and thus made the decision to return to Fidelity in 2006.Since his return to Fidelity, June-Yon has successfully managed the FAST Japan Fund, Fidelity’s active extension Japanese equity strategy.
