Steven J. Berexa is Global CIO Equity with Allianz Global Investors and a member of its Global Executive Committee. In addition to his responsibilities as Global CIO Equity, Steve continues to manage money as a portfolio manager of the Disciplined Equity and Global Fundamental strategies and lead manager of the Global Insights/Intellectual Capital strategy. Since joining the firm in 1997, Steve’s roles have included Global Head of Research and head of the US Technology team. He has managed several Lipper Award-winning European- domiciled funds and has 28 years of investment-industry experience. Before joining the firm, Steve worked at Prudential in a private placement unit, with responsibilities for the subordinated debt of renewable energy projects, as well as credit and LBOs. He was also a technology analyst at Chancellor/ LGT Asset Management. Steve has a B.S.E.E. in electrical engineering and computer science from Duke University, where he was awarded the Angier B. Duke scholarship, and an M.B.A. from Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business. He is a CFA charter holder.
