Manager profile
Dmitry Solomakhin has been the Portfolio Manager for FAST Global fund since its inception on 30 September 2013. Prior to launch, the fund was run as a Pilot fund, funded entirely by Fidelity, and not available for client investment. The pilot fund was launched in March 2011 and went through a ‘proof of concept’ phase which lasted until end December 2011. This initial stage allowed the Portfolio Manager, Dmitry Solomakhin, to fully test the additional tools of a FAST fund. Following this, Dmitry began to manage the portfolio to mimic a live fund as per his natural investment style. Dmitry Solomakhin joined Fidelity in January 2006 as a European Equity Research Analyst, covering the aerospace and defence sector as well airlines and logistics. During his tenure, Dmitry had an enviable stock picking track record as an analyst and was voted top buy-side aerospace and defence analyst in the 2007 Thomson Extel Survey. In January 2008 he was appointed Assistant Portfolio Manager within the Global Equities Team, with a particular focus on technology, industrials, soft commodities, shipping, and petrochemicals. Dmitry was Portfolio Manager of the Fidelity Funds Global Technology Fund from November 2008 to October 2013. Dmitry has a M.Sc. (Hons.) in Applied Mathematics and Computer Sciences from Moscow State University, Russia. He also holds a MBA (Hons.) from INSEAD.
